Yesterday, National ESL announced the groups for the IEM5 American Championship. 16 teams, broken up into 4 groups of 4, will compete for the right to go to New York City's ComicCon for the IEM5 American Championship Finals on October 8-10.
Only six teams will be advancing which means that the top teams from each group will automatically advance to the finals, while the final two teams will be determined through a series of relagation matches.

Two South American teams will join the six advancing teams in the finals in October. Those teams have yet to be announced. The schedule for the tournament can be found below:
